Anyone have a rattle with their moonroof?

I was driving yesterday, about 40mph with the roof open and it seems it vibrates enough to cause a rattle.

Anyone else experience this on an '08 GS350? or any other '08 model?

The moon roof rattles a bit when its tilted, but no rattle when its slided open.

 

my 07 has a slight rattle when the roof is vented, too. i have a bigger problem when the thing is totally closed...it rubs or something. i have asked the dealer to look at it, but they never really do. no problem when it is all the way openn. i am sure it is an easy adjustment they can make to fix that up for ya.

 

mine seems to have a little squeak when its totally closed and the inner cover is opened. when i close the cover, its so slight of a squeak, i cant hear it anymore. i just keep it closed.

 

most moonroofs rattle eventually.

that's why i hate them. but what choice do i have.

 

Not sure if it's Bernoulli... as I haven't lifted off the ground yet.

But it's a rattle when the roof is fully open, not just tilted. The car is <1yr and only has 5000 miles... would hope that doesn't pose too much wear/tear on a moonroof to make it start to rattle... but it is my first Lexus.

 

As long as my moon roof doesnt rattle when its close, I am happy. I dont use my moonroof that much and when I do the wind noise is too loud to hear the rattles anyways.

 

You're either hearing a rattling which is coming from the inner plastic trim clipped on to the moonroof assy OR the rubber gasket rubbing onto the roof's sheetmetal edge. You should take it in and address it at your next dealer visit.

 

Darn you guys, because of this thread, I started to notice this on my '08 too. Just a slight squeak with the cover open, not really enough to do anything about it yet - just have to keep the ML cranked up . . .

 

You are right socalJD, I never notice it b 4 but I think I hear a ticking noise now with my sunroof close I have to stop reading these rattle threads

 

happens in many Lexus vehicles, take it the stealer, complain and get fixed, get some freebees

yeah i took mine in to the dealership and they gave me a few freebies. or maybe because i'm a girl. haha.
