Angry I Hate You Guys!!!!

You've all convinced me to go up in wheel size! Because of your constant posting of your sweet rides I was selfishly peer pressured into getting something larger than the wheels I just purchased!........ It's a secret what I got though.

I didn't want to go with 20s only because all my searching has indicated it's pretty much hit or miss on all the variations of sizes, widths, offsets, and tires than can be used without rubbing or requiring the fenders to be rolled.

Anyhow, the size I ordered is as follows:
19x8.5F +40
19x10R +44
245/35/19F
285/30/19R

Again, Thanks for making me HATE you all in the most loving of ways!!!!

AND!! It's interesting when I was talking to the guy at Tirerack.com about tire size, and he told me to listen to the folks at ClubLexus........Someone owes me some money!

Oh, BTW, anyone want to purchase a new set of wheels and tires for their car? Perhaps for Winter?

Cool deal! Where the hell have you been hiding? in that "other" place...the notorious 2GS forum?

Did you see the wheels that I currently have? The AMG style wheels?

BTW, if you do get them, I'm taking the TPMS off.

iono man 20's dont technically rub. its the tire size and offset you have it at + the drop on your car.

he hit it. width + offset + tire size determine a lot (and i am not even mentioning fender mods here). just saying 20" would rub that's totally wrong. i can easily do a 18" setup and it will rub like hell

I agree, but with 20s and lowering the car I have heard too many people who have issues with rubbing when they thought their setup would work and even when other members said it would. I also didn't want to run into an issue with rubbing while people are in the back.

Also, I think 19s should be a great fit and look on my car with a 1"-1.5" drop.

think of it this way. 2 setup

1) 19x9 and 19x10 with 245/35/19 and 285/30/19
2) 20x9 and 20x10 with 245/30/20 ad 285/25/20

the overall diameter of the two setup are EXACTLY identical, there is no difference between the two. how can one say the 20s will rub when the 19s don't? it's just impossible

i can understand why a lot of people with 20s rub, that's coz' they use OVERSPEC tires, meaning 245/35/20 ad 285/30/20 (or 275), which have 1" larger overall diameter. with overspec tires, they can't complain, they run the risk.

overall on wheels fitment, things to look out for are widths, offsets, tire brands, tire sizes, suspension heights, and fender designs. every car is different (even within the same model). it's ok to have general idea, but nothing is sure, especially if you start pushing the limit

my car for example. 20x9 and 20x10 aggressive offsets with 235/30/20 and 265/30/20 toyo t1r. tein cst lowered all the way down (last coil), fenders all modded. i drive 120 miles a day and i almost never rub. i rub if i hit a super bad dip, or if i am going up an 270 degrees freeway on ramp at over 40mph.

i knew what i had to deal with and the risks. so i know what to do and what to expect. i am happy. now if anything change (tires or tein cs), things can change a lot.

back in your case. if you only have that mild drop, and say you want a bit more rid cushion (tires), then yeah 19s are just fine. totally understandable. and as long as the widths and offsets are on the conservative sides, i don't think you will have any problems

what i want people to understand on wheel fitment is that there is no exact "rule" that something will fit and something won't. it's a work of art, and it takes tons of experience
