+1 on the BMW and Merc comment. Those cars are not meant to be owned, only leased. BMW although its nice, wayy too unreliable, they dont even test their cars before putting them on the market. What bimmer does is that they rush to put every vehicle they make onto the market then worry about the problems later.

More info though - According to Jim Farley, former GM of Lexus, the average IS buyer is 41 and the average ES350 buyer is 61. A full 40% of Lexus buyers are over 60.
People tend to have greater successes and make more money as they get older. The tech savvy and professionals/high earners here (by definition of being here and being enthusiasts) aren't representative of the spectrum of buyers.

avg IS owners are 41? i find it very hard to believe, as i see so many IS every day and they are all young people in there. again unless i see official numbers on each model. for the GS i tend to think 40-45.Originally Posted by drpepper

haha.. ya know, the age is flawed in many ways. If I ever have a kid, I might get the IS for my son/daughter, that's why the PURCHASER might be the father and falls into the age demographic, however, the PRIMARY DRIVER is the young ones in the family, hence we always see them on the road
when I was in college, none of my friends with BMW/MB/Lexus bought their own cars, even if they did, the car will be registered under parents to save on insurance cost.

For the environment, climate and lifestyle that we live in I would trade our car for the GS460. I would rather have a high performance RWD than the AWD.

I went for a GS430 Vs GS350 awd when I got mine. I wanted the car to be able to get up and go when I wanted it to.
