Default 19 MPG - 450h

Mileage seems to be getting worse; averaging 19 mpg. 70% city driving, 30% freeway; 22k miles; Pilot Sport A/S tires (30 days old); consistent driving style since buying new 2 years ago; only use premium gas.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

That is very odd, I would check with the dealer. Have you had it maintained? Maybe try some good ole concentrated fuel injector cleaner.

Hybrids are a different world, wish I could help more

City driving. That's where you're mileage will suffer. Plus you're probably using your A/C more so as it is approaching the summer season.

I find that odd... my GS350 gets 19mpg. I would think with the 450h, it would get better then that.

that's pretty bad. my gs350 gets around 19mpg in city too, and often better than that. hybrid supposedly should be better on local?

My thoughts were mileage improves in the city, no?

the 450h is supposed to have excellent city mileage due to the electric drive..

on the euro boards people have been claiming 8 to 9l/100kms (like a golf or civic) worked that out to about 26-28mpg

something must be wrong

move the seat back farther so your lead foot can barely touch the gas pedal :P

could your tire pressure be way low?? maybe all highway driving would really kill the mpg?

Also, I just realized you side you switched to new tires. Are these tires the same specs as the ones you had on before or are they bigger? Bigger tires can lead to lower MPG rating.

It does if driving style is normal and non-spirited and with the A/c on 100% of the time.

That is really weird, even with my "spirited driving habit" (7 speeding ticket last year); my average is between 21~22 MPG or better (85% city/15% highway). And if I really behave, my average would go upto 24~25 MPG (this only occurred when wifey is in the vehicle).

Not sure if this would make any difference, my tire setting are 38psi/36psi (F/R); this only suppose to set off weight distribution close to 50/50 (F/R).

Oh yeah, I do have "drop-in" K&N airfilter in my toy!!!

Even if he had 245/35 and 285/30, he shouldn't be getting that bad of gas mileage.

If your TP is too low than you would get a warning. Being that nothing has changed in your driving style, I would take it in to the dealer. Maybe there's something wrong with the hybrid control module in which it's making your gas engine operate more than it's suppose to. However, I would think that the computer would detect that an output a warning light.
