is this a purplish color? looks black on Lexus's website. my mother-in-law has a 2003 ES and it's "black garnet" or something like that..it's an awesome color. my GS is the black sapphire and I really love this color.

under normal light it's very dark, almost like black. but if under direct sunlight or from an angle reflection, it carries a bit of purple flake, just like how the picture illustrates above

It's a rare color even for the LS600hL, I think we only have one confirmed member here who has a Black Opal 600hL so far, & the 600hL has been out for a year and a half now.
