Default MotorTrend Comparison: 550i vs. E550 vs. XF vs. GS460

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/index.html

If Lexus did not detuned the 4.6L engine it would not be at the bottom of the list. Maybe the next generation the GS460 would get the 380HP engine.

lexus needs to stress performance more. They have the reliability in the bag ( relative to industry standards), they need to focus more on performance in the future models. Even the ISF was ranked last in its comparison to the M3,RS4, and C63. They are coming around, but damn they are taking their time. Nobody is saying for them to dump their creamy suspension, but damn they should offer a sport edition to their full line up ( larger wheels, brakes, stiffer suspension, and added aero parts like infiniti, BMW,mercedes, audi. It seems that I usually only notice lexus on reliability rankings ( always at the top), but they are never at the top of any performance comparisons sadly.

Personally I prefer "RELIABILITY (IN YEARS)" over "PERFORMANCE (IN 10TH OF SECONDS)."

Even though, I do hope Lexus will come out with "SPORTS EDITION" soon (with chrome trims removed from the vehicle)!!!

Then that will shut them out... for good!!!

How did the speedway measure 0-60 ?

I understand how they do 60 foot time but how would the track be able to stop a timer when your car reaches 60 mph ?

One thing is that my GS felt more luxurious than the BMW. My cousin has a 5 series and you cannot feel the ventilated seats when its on high! What a waste of money.

How did they get 360hp bmw 550 0-60 in 4.8????? This is almost M3 414hp number. Weird, because bmw lists 550 with manual trans. in 5.4... that's big difference. I've seen Motortrend posting bogus numbers before. I wouldn't use them as a source of info...

Default The supercharged XF should not be compared to the cars in this

list but rather just a regular XF. The supercharged version should be taking on the M and AMG class. It would then get its teeth kicked in.

think they grouped it here because of the relatively similar price range.
