Just had my tanabe exhaust installed today. It is awesome. It sounds great. Nice and deep only when accelerating. Above 4k you will only hear the motor. It is the kind of system you will not regret buying in a couple of months. It makes the car sound like it has 303hp. Now it sounds like something powerful, and it doesnt drone while cruising. My wife said my old system on my G35 was 8 0of 10 interms of volume, She says this is more like a 2. I am very happy with the exhaust. Yes the car will lose that electric car volume while driving, but with the tanabe you can have you cake and eat it too. It makes a deep throaty sound just when it needs to. Its not constant noise. I think it will be acceptable even with a baby in the car. Great Mod!!!

Is your car a 350 or 430?

 

Do notice any improvement in the acceleration response? BTW, I also vamped my previous ride - a G35 coupe - with an aftermarket exhaust. It was freakin' loud! Impressive performance gain on that mod alone. I loved it, neighbors did not....

You finally pulled the trigger! I am glad that you like it and most importantly, the wife likes it. (I sold my HKS because of wife's disliking) I assume it does not drone between 1.3K-3.5K rpm? Update us again after the Tanabe breaks in.

some sort of resonance (mainly heard inside the cabin)

for example for v8 cars, usually at low rpm around 2000, there is a droning resonance heard inside the cabin. for v6 usually it's at higher rpm

 

cost for install at the lexus dealership was 228 bucks. Its not even a cat back system. Its an axle back system. Easy to install.
