Now I have been seeing tons of mixed information floating around numerous threads pertaining to whether or not the GS460 has direct injection. Considering this thread's title, I figued this would be the best one to post the information I found.
My brother is a Lexus tech and he pulled up a service bulletin for motor identification and it proves that the GS460 DOES have direct injection. As you can see in the picture below, the 1UR-FSE motor is being used.
I think there may have been alot of confusion with people mistaking the GX460 as it does have the 1UR-FE which isn't DI. Hope this clears things up for those of you that have the 460 as I know it did me. I am going to update the wiki sites as they are showing wrong as well.

If you are right I wonder why the GS has less power. I think the reason that they detuned the 1UR-FSE in the GS460 is because Lexus did not want the GS460 to outperform the GS450H or the LS460 which are both higher end models. I think with the Direct injection V8, the 0-60 would have been 5.1 or 5.2 instead of 5.4.
umm, lexus bulletin vs wiki, i don't know which one i should trust more (no pun intended). not the first time i see errors in bulletin, but wiki info are just info random people write anyway

With how much the ECU controls, there are alot more areas that Lexus can do to detune the motor than just changing the type of injection. Who really knows why they would lower the HP... Probably either the reason you say or what other have speculated because it is so jammed in the GS and they had to change the intake setup on them.
The times sound about right to me considering the LS is only 500 lbs. heavier with 40 more HP and 30 more torque...
If you click on the link in this page to fiew the UR engine information, you will see the GS460 is listed under both motors (Although I am getting ready to edit it). I think I am going to put more confidence that the Lexus bulletin is correct and our cars do have the DI.
Once again, because of direct fuel injection to the LS models ( our LS models are electronic fuel injection ) and our crap sulfur based fuel, our GS460's are de-tuned to 322hp. Batman is correct in his theory! Bummer

Sorry, I should have specified... I am confident that the US version of the GS460 is direct injection. You are right though, that it does seem that they put the non DI motor in the middle east version at least.
if gs460 in middle east doesn't have DI and the ones in US do, that can explain why on the service bulletin gs460 are listed with both engines
If your talking about the service bulletin i posted an image of, it doesn't. Thats a GX460 right below it... If not, what other bulletin are you talking about? What my brother pulled up is for North American vehicles only
