Default 2009 Lexus announced - one model so far

They just updated the website with 2009 RX. I just got my 08 and they are already rolling out the 2009?

I know they'll take forever for them to put the 2009 GS on there, but what do you think will be on the 2009 GS?

They roll out the 09 RX early, so they can have a early launch for the re-design 2010 RX. I expect more minor changes for the 09 GS, maybe some technology trickling down to the GS350 from the GS460 such as electronic brakes or variable ratio steering.

i know the gs 3 is pretty new (2006)

any guesses on when the 4th generation will be born?

(contemplating on getting the 08 or waiting for 09 GS)

My guess for 4th generation GS would be 2011 as a 2002 model...

Didn't the '08 GS already receive a minor refresh...revised front end, turn indicators on the side mirrors, etc?

The RX comes out early every year, it's not because of the early release for the redesigned 2010. The 08 came out feb/march of last year too. The RX didn't get redesigned after 5 years for the simple reason that it still sells very well. Lexus being like any other company wants to milk the profits while they can. Why spend money on retooling the factory when they can easily make the same amount of money by doing nothing. I leased my wife a 07 RX for 3 years hoping that the redesign would come out in 09 and then we can buy the 10 after it is a year old but I guess we might have to take a risk on the first year model, just like the 06 GS300 folks did.

2009 GS should be out on normal schedule in Nov., probably without any changes except a new color?

I use to have faith in Lexus 1st year redesigns, now a days, they have just as many problem as all the other manufacturers. I would stay away from any 1st year Lexus.

Default Genesis coming...

well, these are not Hyundai's of old.
as I am sure you've heard. Over the next 5 years, Hyundai will be very well respected in the market, perhaps better than Honda.

my next car is Hybrid either way.
