Sorry I think you're right. they have PY21W but not WY21W.

ALternative is LEDs but yu would need to modify the wiring to add a resistor which is a dealbreaker for me.

Philips have confirmed that the next expected delivery will be July, we have verified this with Philips Japan where these products originate, we have discussed the possible supply direct and from other Philips Distributors but no one has any (maybe 1 or 2 pairs left in various places only).

Do they have the non Philips branded ones? I noticed other silver WY21W bulbs on their site.

 

never considered that. i'll ask em' thanks. If they do have them available than I stand corrected. I guess I can say they don't have Philips branded WY21W bulbs. If it works the same I guess no harm in trying..

 

UK seller on ebay has them. Just ordered a few sets and it worked out to $24 a set including shipping.

mine showed up today and I swapped the rear in; will tackle the fronts when I install the sways. Subtle, but cleans up the lights. I ordered an extra set for spares down the road. Thanks again to OP for the tip and details.

 

Finally got mine installed about a month ago. It took nearly 3 mos. to get them.. better late then nvever.

@ Alwayz..give autolamps a try, send them an email or call them first. They were able to get one more bulk load of these bulbs. They still may have them in stock. They are now 27.00 per pair shipped.

 

Guys here another way to get raid off the fried egg look:

Option 1: Use paint thinner to remove the "orange paint" on the bulbs;

Option 2: Purchase "7440 CLEAR" from any of autoparts, which cost less than $5.00 per set.

This might not be as orange, but still legal !!!

 

Old thread but still a nice subtle mod. I'm looking around now and finding it hard to find Philips Silvervision WY21W bulbs for sale. However, I do see PY21W bulbs for sale and for a cheaper price. So what is the difference between WY21W and PY21W bulbs?
