I just took my '06 GS430 in for 15k service and was given an '08 GS350 loaner. First of all, is it me or is that thing quicker than my V8 430? Anyway, my question is navigation related. The new nav is 1,000 times clearer than the 2006 generation. Is there any way to get the new generation into my 2006? Would I need the brain, brain AND screen??? Thanks for your help and sorry if this has been answered already.

 

yes, i do feel the gs350 is quicker off the line than the 430. but the tq of the gs430 will take over at higher speed imho

about the nav, i would think it's everything swap

assuming all harnesses are the same, i think it probably makes more sense to get the unit from junkyard. getting it from lexus factory and the price tag will probably make you puke

whereever the nav brain may be, it may be possible to swap only that and hope the screen can support the updated graphics, who knows ??
