Greetings from a first time poster! I just traded in my zippy little Subaru Impreza for an 08 GS350 RWD with black interior (w/everything except ML). It was hard to try and capture the light pink/purple shimmer in pics but when I park next to my friend's Glacier Frost Mica, the difference is obvious. I love both colors. I also wanted to say thanks for your posts and advices.
I have seen it in person, and I might be a bias here...
Glacier Frost Mica, normally is pearl white and when the light hit it it turns light blue. But on the cloudly day it would also put you down, just because it turned light grey instead of blue...
Opaline Pearl, normally is pure white pearl (which is very bright and I do like it!!!), except when the light hit is it turned light pink/purple...
Personally I think Glacier Frost Mica is a unisex color, but Opaline Pearl is only for the lady!!!
Congratulations and welcome to Club Lexus! Opaline pearl was one of my color choices, but i ended up with Mercury Metallic. When i first saw the opaline pearl i immediately fell in love, but after seeing it more at the dealership it loooked too gurly for a guy. Overall is a very unique and sexy color. Now let the modding begin!!
I think we can get pictures on Thursday since it will be raining this afternoon and tomorrow so I'm driving my beater. We definitely need to get pics where the sun is hitting them at the right angle to see the differences.
We also park next to our friend's white 06 Acura TL and last friday with the sunset shining directly on the cars, my IS and her TL looked to be the same shade of white, but the GS definitely looked to be a much brighter/pure white contrasting against the more golden reflection off the other cars.
They are indeed very complex colors and you'd really have to see both colors in person to appreciate the nuances of the paint.
