Default anyone having balancing or vibration problems with new wheels

I just got a set of custom asanti 128's and have alot of rear vibration in the car over 70mph. I have had it back to the shop twice and still have the same problem. today they road force balanced all four and rotated the rear laft tire 180 deg on the rim for better balance. still have the problem. Iwas wondering if anyone has had problems balancing a new set of staggered rims. I paid 5k for the wheels and tires and refuse to roll with vibration. Is there anything I should be doing or siggesting to the tech at the tire place.? This is irritating me to no end bec I waited so long for the wheels and finally got the car lowered, but still cant get it perfect

Make sure you have the right nut lugs, a lot of after market wheels required some tapered bottom lug nuts to be properly centered (lug centric vs nut centric), maybe that is your problem, also keeping up with nut lugs, with some crap Pep Boys $30 nut lugs I had some vibrations, after investing in some niiiice Rays Engineering nut lugs, they were all gone.

several things i would check
- are the wheels out of round?
- hub rings?
- right lug nuts?
- torque settings on the lug nuts?
- another shop?

i assume balancing is not the issue here

Heard about this issue before on this site. Why pay so much for a car and then downgrade it by putting big wheels on it and take the smooth ride away?

reason to mod cars have been covered so many times already as well, let's not get into another discussions here, it's all personal preferences

if it's just one lug nut loose, and after going to the shop several time that didn't fix the issues, i doubt it's the lug

are these rims hub-centric? if not, those rims are known to cause vibrations at high speed, if tightening the lug didn't do it, look into hubcentric adapters, it's almost like a spacer, so I do hope you have enough clearance.

since i assume these rims are new, I didn't think it would be bent.

have the tech check the wheel bearings too, some people's vibrations are not caused by the rims or tires but the wheel bearings.

good luck and let us know how it goes.

hubcentric rings are all he needs, if the wheels are not hubcentric. it doesn't change the offset at all. there is no need for adapters

I'm running a staggered set of 20s. I have no problems with vibration in my car. Hubcentric rings and a good quality set of lugs are definitely key. What tire brand and size are you running by the way?

i am running falken fk452 with 245/30 front and 275/30 rear. I spoke to the mgr of the wheel place and they said the tech who worked on the car said they need hub rings. I was under the assumption that all custom 3pc forged wheels were hubcentric to give the highest quality ride. I hope they get this right soon bec its getting annoying. Fortunately I work acrross the street from the tire shop. Thanks for your input guys

in regard to the question of why would you tune a luxury car? my answer is to be different, and to make the car look better. The ride quality difference with the tein h tech is less than 5 % harsher than stock. If anything it gives the car a more german feeling suspension where the ride is smoothe but firm. I am very happy with the tires I went with they are quiter than the stock michellins. Plus when I walk up to my car and I see that huge lip and the triple dipped chrome spokes it makes me feel like I am BALLIN !!! (haha)

yes, if it's custom wheels, should have gone with hub centric already. i guess the wheel shop didn't do a good job on ordering. but you can only try to fix the problem now

I cant believe people dont take the time to do the research and homework into installing aftermarket wheels on ANY car. If you never thought about hubcentric rings and alternative lugs - shame on you!
