Default How much would you pay for headrest dvd players?

Hy everyone.

I was considering to install a ceiling mounted drop down screen on my 2008 gs350, but after receiving the car and after considering the advice of some of you I changed my mind...it would be too low and obstruct rear view.

I have to kids and sometimes we use the car to to go to 1-2 hour trips (we also own a GX which has a drop down) so my wife is suggesting we indeed install the screens as well on the GS.

a) The lexus dealer is charging $2,300 for the headreast screens (2 of them with wireless headsets. What do you think of that price? seem high to me. What would you think is the real value of that?

b) If you have installed theses screens on your vehicles, over time, do they become sort of loose and weak, almost like broken down, or is this type of installation very standard and clean?

c) Would you consider doing this on a gs? will it "diminish" its perceived value?

Thanks in advance.

I would consider doing it as long as it looked "clean".
All of our other vehicles have rear entertainment, and I have thought about adding it to my GS450h a few times. Especially great for the little ones in the back....priceless.

I have seen some that look great, clean look, great picture, and others that aren't as great.

I am not sure if I would go with Lexus installing those headrest or take it to a professional company and doing it after market with better screens....
just not sure.

I would expect it to be about 2K for both is resonable in my mind for a $$$$.

If done right, it coudl only add value, or not add value, but retain value, or add appeal that others wouldn't have in that same car.

If it's done right, it's a great option....... if done right.

I don't know if it's possible but I would personally only add the screen if it were just that, a screen..... not all the buttons and inputs.
I would want a separate area, like my other GX on the back of the center console to have all the volume buttons and such.

who knows.

I've been using headrest monitors for 1 1/2.The company I used was savv, had a minor prob with the video switch but had that replaced.I just got 2 9" monitors from vizaulogic fro my escalade. It has built in dvd players you can watch different movies in each one.It comes with a video game control with games built in,headphones, remote control.I recommend that company.Cost was about 2k plus install. Most companys offer replacement headrests.
