Default '08 GS and "iPod port"

So I've to check out an '08 on the lot but apparently, none of the dealers in my area have them yet. I looked in the brochure and I noticed that it said there was an "iPod/MP3 port" standard on the '08 but since there aren't any
'08's on the lot, I'm hoping someone can help me out here. Can someone tell me if this "port" is like the USB port that BMW and Infiniti offers where the iPod can interface with the navigation system so that you can select your songs using the controls of the stereo system? If that's not the case, please confirm if it's the lame RCA jack that you simply plug into the car so that you can listen to the music through the car's speakers but you still have to control it by actually using the iPod. Thanks.

Actually it's neither.

It's an auxiliary port using 3.5mm, not RCA.

How do you switch to the sound from that jack? Is there a button on the nav screen or is there a separate button outside the nav screen to say play what is coming through the ipod connector?

Ya know, with the amazing NAV in this car and being Japanese and all I would figure by 2008 Lexus would offer a more advanced option instead of the headphone jack.

Poor.

honestly, the iPod is not the only music player. You can use the headphone jack for so many things. If you really want an iPod specific adapter, you always have the option to get one yourself. It's also cheaper than getting an "OEM" one if it existed.

Default Disc/AUX vs. Disc meaning

How does pushing the "Disc/AUX" button work exactly?

It used to be called just "Disc" which would play the CD. What if you have an ipod connected AND a CD loaded when you push the "Disc/AUX" button? What happens?

Seems ambiguous to me. I'm confused.

is there any aftermarket alternatives for the ipod? ie: an aux module so we can use an ipod cable that will charge our ipod and access the songs.

I would assume that pushing the button multiple times will just toggle between CD and AUX. This is how the AM/SAT button works too.
