Mahn I was at Hennessy of G today...damn, they had a white/tan one 350 AWD (Dealer car). The white shows off so much more of the details in the design....

Crap...back to square one

I myself been in the lurking in 3Gen GS threads. Current I have my G35 sedan pictured below but been thinking seriously about getting the 3Gen G, well 430 to be exact. A couple years ago I almost got a gs300 but decided I wanted power and went with a G35. I'm shooting for the year end to get into my GS now.

2 Questions:

-- How do you feel about Infiniti in general - from customer service to the quality of the G?
-- Why are you considering the GS over the redesigned G or M?

The car I'm mainly considering against the '08 GS is the '08 G37 (I know different cars, but I have reasons). I won't make my decision until the '08 GS arrives at dealers, but I love almost everything of what I've felt and seen of the G37. However something about Infiniti, and particularly about how their products age -- either perceived or real -- seems to be an area of concern for me.

You didn't ask me but since I drove a G35 for a year, I think I'm qualified to reply.
I think Infiniti's are really nice cars. People don't give them the credit they deserve. The cars are reliable and come with all the luxury options for less than everyone else except maybe Acura. The interiors are not as nice but the difference is not enough to keep from buying one. The Q45 is actually on par with the big boys in terms of quality. But here's the big deal about them....they are better drivers cars. The handling and power delivery are better than Lexus. You enjoy driving the car. You're part of the car. It's exhilerating. I miss my G35!

Get the white/tan combo! Yep, I'm biased LOL..... but I did take the OEM mats out and put them
in the attic... replaced with custom black berber ones... I just know the OEM tan
mats would be absolutely toast after a month....

The black mats are a decent compliment to the tan interior to at least keep it somewhat less
trashy after all the dirty shoes

1) Well had my Infiniti for about 3 years now, its been problem free and I get great service when I go for service. Yes sir, no sir, I get a loaner without having to refill etc. The Infiniti is fun to drive but I do not believe its a car I can not keep in the long run because of depreciation value and demand a couple years down the road.

2) I consider the GS a step-up from the G. It is more comparable to the M. Again I have no issues with Infiniti but my next car I want to keep for a long time and would have a better piece of mind in getting a lexus over Infinit because of better reliability. The M is a nice car, even have more torque and head room (6.3 guy) for me but I love the design of the new lexus. I'm also counting on the body style running as long as the 2nd Gen GS.

Since we're already off topic, I'm another G-to-GS owner here... No complaints about the G35 at all! It was an excellent car and I really didn't have any issues worth selling it for. Minor points are that it wasn't quite as fast as the GS (even though it's manual) plus I wanted 4-doors and some new gizmos to play with (backup cameras, bluetooth, sensors, etc...). I started to switch to a G35 Sedan or M but I was already sold on the interior of the GS and I was ready to try something different. I'd owned Lexus' in the past soooo...

Also a G35 sedan to GS350AWD switcher. Had the G35 for 3 years, then lease ended and was sick of driving it in the winter (did not have the "x') so wanted an all wheel drive. Got GS for size and interior. Got bored with infinti interior very quick and at the end of 3 years hated the exterior (04 sedan). Bought the lexus this time and hope to keep it for 7yrs (its my wifes car so hopefully wont get bored to soon). But tooling around town I do feel almost 8-10yrs older than I did in the infiniti (i'm 31 and feel like i'm 40 when I drive the GS). I'm kinda glad i'm not driving it daily even though its brand new and my car is almost a year old. I wonder how many buyers actually bought this car for thier women?
