I can't believe this but yesterday some XX**X sprayed a liquid on my door while parked at a hospital ER very early in the morning. It was slighty orange in color, had no odor and had a bit of an oily base. I was furious, drove home quickly to wash it off. To my horror (my color is GFM) this substance took the clear coat off and on the lower door panel left orange streaks that I can't seem to get off. I tried briefly to remove those with some polish and swirl remover. No help.
I don't think this was tranny fluid, PS fluid or any automotive type. Does anyone know what this might have been? Other that repainting the door any way to fix this?

This really sucks. If clear coat has been affected, repaint it.
Does the hospital have security cameras in the lot? Hope so!

That sucks, sorry to hear. Are you positive the clear coat is gone?

About 15 years ago, tranny fluid was spilled on some spots of my high school car, which was white, and the paint was stained pretty badly. However, Turtle Wax Bug and Tar Remover took care of it.

Something you may want to try if you think there's a chance that your clear is still there. If it's truly gone, then as was said above, you'd need to repaint.

I used goo-gone to remove paint-ball stains off my mercedes. Can't hurt to try it.

Damn bro thats sucks, But try taking it to a paint shop and get them to try to buff it out first, and if it doesn't come out then repaint the door is a must.

GOOD LUCK.

Clear coat is definitely gone. About a 18" oval spot just to the left of the drivers side door panel. I have spent a few hrs. with an orbital buffer and polishing compound and I managed to get 90% of the orange streaks on the lower panel. Thank god for that. I had about 2 coats of Zaino on the beast, if not for that it might have been worse. I re-applied the Zaino and it looks better but that high gloss in one area is missing. I have to assess if I can live with it. I also have a call in to the Hospital security to see if any cams were in action. It would have happened somewhere between 4 AM & 7 AM. If I catch the perps they just might find Draino on their hood!

Hmmm perhaps the wrong type of chemical was used. Polishes don't clean blemishes, however paint cleaners do.

I hate when careless people ruin cars for no reason.

I would try clay bar, and hope that works. Good luck!
