Talking GS430 2007, SUNROOF leaking

Hi,

this my first time here and first time buying GS,

i just bought it and noticed that when i wash the car, there is some water drops from sun roof, side, it's not that much.

but when i asked the dealer of it , he said thats normal and all of them do, and there is side pipes that allow the water to drop out, so no worry from leaking in the interiors.

but is it normal or there is a recall or some defect ?

need your knowledge guys

thanks

Most sunroofs that I have seen have a guttering system and four drains, usually one down each front windshield posts and down the back of the roof on each side that drain to the outside. I have not looked at mine but I would assume that is the way Lexus does it also. It is not unusual for a sunroof to allow a few drops thru the gasket in a high pressure wash but I never look because it would be so small it would go out the drains or evaporate. This is a statement in general about most companys sun roofs, and I am not saying the Lexus is this way but I would be suprised if it is not. Hope this helps.

Open the sunroof completely and shoot hi pressure air down all 4 drains at each corner. If all these are clear and it still leaks maybe the seal around the sunroof is deformed.
