Are we certain GFM is roadkill starting 2008? Gee I really hope its not dead, that's a beautiful color.

I'm sure I am not the only one to notice this, but on the front page of club lexus there is an article that reads "Lexus Announces Prices on 2008 RX 400h, SC 430, GX 470, IS 250/350, ES 350 and LS 460". Now for those of you who paid attention, there is something huge that is missing from this article - the GS line of vehicles. Why did they leave us out hanging dry? Are they still working on the changes for 2008? Production/Quality issues being addressed? Any word or theories??

Everyone is reading too far in between the lines. Lexus will have a seperate press release for the GS as there will be a few changes made. The 2008 models other than the RX350/400h will be released to dealerships in September as they always do new models. Just hang tight!

Not sure I agree with this logic. Unless Lexus recently hired Chris Bangle to redesign the GS, I would expect the 08 to provide improvements and refinements to the 07 version that would be potentially worth the wait. It's not typical that a luxury car manufacturer would release a new model that wasn't improved over the previous model. Lexus is no different. Everyone buys based on their own criteria or emotion. It's easy to rationalize the "just-buy-it-now" approach, but in the long run, a bit of self-restraint could pay dividends.

There was a quick report on autospies posted today on the GS460 and the IS-F.

Geeze, I really hate how the comments to that Autospies article deteriorated into a giant flame war about Lexus and German cars..

That's what my local dealer said they heard, however they may have just been saying that to push us into the purchase as they knew we wanted that color. Also, somebody over on the IS forum from Canada said the dealer's order form showed the color for a 2007 IS and it was not on the form for a 2008 IS. Who knows. Must be very few people that really know these things for sure and there superiors must threaten them if they leak the information early.:

Not that things wouldn't be improved, just that if there are some changes they might not be as appealing to some people over what the current styling is. For instance-My wife and I don't care for the clear tail lights on most of the new models. We prefer the current ones on the GS and if the 2008's are clear, we probably wouldn't care for the change. Might not be logical to you, but it helped us decide to buy an 07 now as we like everything about it. By the way-My wife unfortunately has very little self restraint on matters like this .
