Default Lexus High beam driving lights

I don't know if this has probably already been answered or not but might as well ask anyway. I hate the driving day lights on the Gs they are too dim. I recently purchased some 100 watts Driving lights from Lextasy hoping that would help give me the HID look that I'm going after. But to be honest they look exactly the same! I know Sylvania and some other companies sell these little bulbs, but does anyone know if they give you HID look?
thanks.

I first tried the Sylvania Silverstar ULTRA but they where not white enough (and actually the OEM high beam are already Silverstar), I then installed Nokya 7000k 100W High Beam and Fog lights, I'm very happy with theses, they look very white, they actually match nicely my 6000k HID, I also installed the "WLED-x6 LED Wedge Base Bulbs" from superbrightleds.com

I'm very happy with the result (this is low beam)

timeToy - your headlights need to be turned off in order to see the DRL's. The 1st picture you provided shows them turned off...your wedge LED is actually producing that white light...not the DRL's.

You will soon realize that the halogen bulbs are running at half-wattage in DRL mode...hence the yellowish color. I don't think anyone has been able to find a halogen bulb that emits a white tint of light in DRL mode.

This was with the headlights in "auto" mode, I'll check tomorrow in the daylight.

EDIT: I stand corrected and changed my post, I also updated the pictures with my new 6000k HID

Have the headlights completely turned off, then take the picture. You'll notice the yellowish tint.

Exclamation Turn It Off

I did not like to color of the DRL either, initially I tried to replaced it with 100watt bulbs also, but it still good like crap. So when I went for my 5k service, I have Lexus service advisor to hook my vehicle to the computer to TURN OFF the UGLY DRL for good.

Since we are not in Canada, we do have to option to turn off the DRL.

Hope this help.

I am just wondering do the driving lights always give off half the wattage so is they why they are so dim?

I believe this is what happened: the High beams are being run at half the voltage, so they look very dim.

Correct: DRL = High beam running at half-wattage.
