You hit the nail on the head! - If not the GS, then what? - And walking is not an option!

I like the GS, but my biggest two issues are the poor headroom in the back seat. (The front seats are not too bad.) Also, I find neither the ride nor the handling very good. Usually, a car is tuned for either comfort or sport, but I find the GS is good at neither.

However, there are many pluses, one of which is rarely mentioned is the CVT. I actually prefer it to a regular auto gearbox because it is 100% smooth. No jerks during gear changes, and the car is always "in the right gear".

The aux ipod input really is not a big deal because, as others have said, you can play mp3 discs, each of which can hold a lot of songs.

I'm gonna say it again, I love this forum! Best thread I've read in a long time.

Reading it from start to finish was like watching a motion picture movie that had:
- drama
- attitude
- anger
- suspense
- redemption, etc.

I even learned a few things about my GS along the way. Seriously, this is part of the fun of Club Lexus and what keeps me coming back to read new posts.

Okay, enough from me.... now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

There is no aux input in the GS so icannot connect my Ipod.
This to me was very very surprising because even cheap cars nowadays have the aux input!!
I tried to use a DVD (which had the mp3 songs created in data format)but
the so called mark levinson would not recognize it leave alone play it!
I was able to play the same DVD on a Camry though.
The cup holders on the drivers side is in a very inconvenient position.
It is great for the passenger but the driver will find it very inconveniently placed.
Then on my test drive, there was a rattle on the drivers side when i drove
the cars at around 30 miles an hour. At higher speeds, the rattle was not heard because the car was traveling at a much higher speed.
Then the rear seat can accomodate 2 passengers are best. The middle passenger will find it very inconvenient to sit because of the hump.
The rear seating is a joke. The seats are too cramped.
And finally the trunk is too small.
I love my ES and I may go back to get a ES 350 instead of the GS. The only
reason I was going for the GS was because I hear of too many transmission problems with the ES.
Does anyone know whether the 2008 GS comes with the aux input?
Hmm...
AUX port seems to be a decision point?
So spending $50K+ you won't afford $200-$300 add-on for iPod connection?
Weird...

It really makes no sense (not to mention the sylish cassette player).

Ease up guys. This is his first post and he points out valid concerns.
Good point, chocaholic!
