Quote: But under no circumstances (other than I guess the car being submerged into a river) should your headliner get wet because the tray is overflowing or not directing water to underneath the car. Headliner wetness is absolutely abnormal.
Orginally the headliner was warped so I brought it in for service. They told me because it leaked so they replaced the headliner and moonroof. After that incident I started to pay more attention to the seam for leaks, that is when I discovered the dripping from heavy rain. Did not know why the headliner warped the first time. Maybe the drain was clogged.

Thanks for the info I was bout to bring my car in and argue about it heheheh

Is there water just staying in the tray? and not drain out? Possible clog in the drain area, have you looked at that? The headliner should not get wet at all. Bring it back again, or try another dealership. Let us know what happen.

No the headliner is not getting wet just some dripping I thought it was weird but apparently its normal under heavy rain. After the first time they change the headliner it did not get wet any more but still drips under heavy rain.

Not sure if I understand it... if there is some dripping... it is getting wet. I definitely check the drain around moonroof. If you can't get any help from your dealership, check with a high quality bodyshop near your area. Hope this help.

You're fine, tray is supposed to handle water. If you want to test your drain for being clogged or not, take a cup of water and pour it in the tray with the roof open, see if the water pools in the tray or drains off. You then have your answer.

Use to not no more. I go to Westside Lexus now. They are 10X better as far as service and hospitality. Although it's a lot further for me but well worth it. Why you ask?

According to others and the dealer it is normal that it is leaking during heavy rain into the tray. It is not leaking for the tray to the headliner.
