10 miles per day? I drive 35 miles one way to work everyday. I wish I didn't have to commute....I just hit 5000 miles the other day.

My 2007 GS350, delivered in February with ML/Nav etc, also has the Michelin Primacies. Having had Yokohama's on my previous 2006 GS430, I can vouch for the MICHELINS. WAY quieter, handle just as well. As far as wear, I'm only 1,800 miles in, so hard to say.

When I talked to the Western region rep, he said off the recod the Michelin's are by far the best, least complaints.

So you drive on the PS2 without a spare ?

Thumbs up Lexus = Ultimate Customer Service

After I put about 5000 miles on my factory Yokohama A10B, it also started to make lots of road noise and pulling. Second time after I complained to my service advisor, he went ahead talked to Lexus and his service manager trying to solve the issue. He called me back the very next day, letting me know that they have ordered a new set of Michelin PS2 as replacement.

After I picked up the toy with new shoes, it drives so much quiter and softer too.

Ultimate customer service to Sewell Lexus in Dallas, Texas.

Question Need your help with Tires

Hello All,

I am in desperate need of your help, ASAP. My car is due to port in NY or NJ on May 21st. 2007 GS350 AWD, loaded. I hate the 17's and been trying to decide on the 18 Tourmalines (installed at port as an exchange $2450), but will have some sort of run-flat tire. For $3150, I can get the Tourmaline's with any tire I want. I prefer Michelin anything, preferrably not run flat. My second option is to buy a brand new set of 2007 GS430 wheels/tires from the dealer for $1450 - but will have the Yokohama Advan A10B, which apparently suck. If I buy a new set of 2007 GS430 wheels from the parts counter, and have the dealer put a set of Michelins on them, it will cost me $3450.

Are the PS2 and Primacy HP's available in non-run flat? My goal is to have the 18" Tourmaline or 430 wheels along with a Michelin non-run flat installed prior to delivery.

Thanks for your help.

This option seems like a no-brainer to me. Why not save $2k, drive on the Advans until they start making noise (5-10k mi), then put on a set of Michelins and still be a grand ahead. Or, you could put on some Khumo ASX's (comparable to Michelin at half the price) and save $1500.

Me too... You could even swap the Yoks out day one and sell them used and still be ahead

one one other car I did with no spare. I just drove that thing till the tire came off, destroyed the wheel, but got where I needed. I drove straight to the nearest dealership.

Wow that's pretty hardcore, I'm not sure I'm ready to do that.
You destroyed the wheel or the tire ?

Lexus has been first using Michelin Pilot Primacys not to be confused with the Pilot Sport or Pilot Sport PS2 since the 2005 model year of the IS300. This was along with the Dunlops and Bridgestones they came from the factory with.

I was in the middle of nowhere (no a place I would consider stopping) so I drove the car to the enarest shop nonstop.

I shredded the tire and destroyed the wheel.

Exclamation Rip Off

This is a rip off, for either port or dealer!!!

Initially went I special order for a GFM/Black awd, with 18" summer tires. My dealer in Dallas Texas only charged me flat rate of $950.00, same upgrade price as rwd.

In my opinion if you can only get the 18" wheels with Yokohama A10B, just drive it for awhile then if the noise get on your nerve; complain to the dealer and make them exchange it out to Michelins free of charge.

That is what happened to my GS350, after I complained for the second time. The dealer went ahead and replaced my Yokohama A10B to Michelin PS2!!!

I find that the model is just as important as the brand of tire. My 2007 ES-350 (delivered April 21) came shod with Michelin MXV4 S8's and they were a terrible tire. Quiet, yes. But they handled and steered like a set of half-chewed gumballs, and howled like a cat on a lathe when pushed in the corners. I switched to Yokohama Avid V4S, and now have crisp handling and responsive steering. I will say the MXV's were whisper quiet, but the Avids are very close to that. Tires make a huge difference on any car and much can be improved with the right switch.
