Well I was supposed to get my black GS 350 this weekend but it turns out the dealer wasn't able to get that color. He says it wont be much longer and apparerntly its not easy getting a black GS in NYC right now.

Sucks, I had my whole weekend planned around that

Ordered the car last Saturday

 

Ordered my 350AWD white/black last Friday, gets to Port Newark on 03/22 and she says 5-7 days after that I can pick it up. Doesnt the wait suck???

 

heh, I got black/cashmere. I originally wanted nothing but black/black but the cashmere really looks great too. I let the wife decide on that one.

 

Update: Weather is looking great for Saturday... I am officially a sad man =(

 

Don't feel too bad, guys. I ordered my Mercury Metallic/Black GS 350 AWD on 2/19.

This week I heard it would dock in NJ on 3/24. Probably the same ship as SSoto21's car.

 

Ordered my BLACK / BLACK GS350AWD NAV ML on 12/14/06. It just arrived, picking it up on Monday .... guess i'll have to wait until next year to test it in the snow.

 

Oh dear god my head will explode if I have to wait another 2 weeks. Granted I've only waited one week so far =(

That is absolutely rediculous. I hope the dealer sold you that car for $30,000!

 

$30,000 !!! I wish that were the case. Black / Black w/ML & NAV is a special order. It was promised mid Feb but was delayed, had to wait the extra month

 

These Cars (GS) are in short supply but that is a long time to wait.

Ordered mine 2/12/07, Delivered 2/27/07 here in NJ.

Flunkie you stated in another post that you were lucky that the dealer had one comming in when you ordered that accounts for your speedy delivery

 

True ... I guess I was lucky ... but almost 4 months is a long time to wait ... you must have the patience of a saint !

 

So how long is too long? It will be two weeks coming up this saturday and still no word on mine. I hope he can at least tell me a date of when it might arrive sometime soon. Im starting to think of going to bmw maybe, but i truly want a GS. April 19th my current lease is up and I'm on foot patrol. =(

 

Did your dealer tell you that was a special order? It is not. It just needs to be located.

Ours took 7 weeks to arrive. I could not get a straight answer or a logical explanation as to how the allocation process works from anyone, until I met with the sales manager at the dealer. He showed me the production sheets, and ML/Nav is definitely not a special order, unless you want Quartz Shadow Metallic or another color I forget right now (the beige-looking one)... On top of that, from what he told me and what I saw on the papers, Black/Black is produced in larger quantities than many other combinations.

So, unless something has changed, the ML/Nav/Park Assist/Rain Sensing wipers package is not a special order, and going for black should only make things a tad easier.
