Default My First Lexus -- GS350 AWD

I just picked up my 2007 GS350 AWD, Black/Black today.

Few questions for you guys ....

1. Is there a way to override playing DVDs while driving yet?

2. Anyone have any tips getting around NJ state tint laws? ;-)

3. Cleaning supply recommendations as for interior and exterior? Not sure whats best for the leather, wood trim, and screen. As far as externally, the dealer mentioned a special wax they use?

Love the car so far... picked it up from Ray Catena Lexus (Monmouth NJ)... amazing ride.

Congrats dude.

1. Yes. Do a search for "hack" or "override" or something.
2. I don't know. Hope that they don't care or hope that you don't get caught.
3. No specific recommendations. I suggest visiting the detailing forum for some good advice. Not sure what this "special wax" is.

Cool Tint in NJ

Not much you can do. If they want to they will pull you over all the time. I decided to get the limo tint in the rear section with a 20/30% on the drivers and passengers side windows. It gives the impression that only the rear was tinted.

I have been lucky so far, no issues. PBA card will always help with the tint pull overs.

Yeah I work at the Fort, live in Manahawkin, my GS 300 AWD has 39K miles, lots of mods, new wheels tires, lowered, video headrests, IPOD mod, 110V outlet for my PS2, lots of other imporvements, most done at Shore Cellular, along with my Verizon cell phonebook load.

Enjoy the new ride!!

I had 35% on front/back sides and rear in my previous ES350, but decided to keep it clear with GS350. Too much hassle. And its not just that you will have to take your front window tint off every time you go for an inspection (you will not pass it with front tint). Just that after last summer's NJ government crisis, they are still catching up on money collections every way they can. Don't want to give them an excuse to pull me over. I have been told by a few police friends that as long as I drive my car "like a Lexus" and not like a racing teenager, I should be OK. But than, when you got 300+ horses under the hood, who wouldn't be tempted from time to time?

Thanks for all the replies.

I couldn't seem to stop driving the car over the weekend. From 18 miles to around 190 miles in 24 hours. :-)

First impressions on the GS350 for anyone thinking about it... I have to admit, I didn't realize how amazing this car was until -after- purchasing it. I couldn't possibly be happier.

The biggest annoyances truly are the Nav safety features. I understand why they are there, but I don't like the features disabled while I'm driving, so I am considering the PIN mods listed in the forums.

Unfortunately it snowed last night... another pet peeve is that if you open the trunk and snow slides down the rear window, it can very easily slide directly into your trunk. In other words, the lip is very shallow that would prevent snow/rain from getting into the trunk.

Unfortunately there are currently no overrides yet for the latest version of the Navigation system software. Hardware hacks are only supposed to allow you to play DVDs while driving, if you have a Mark Levinson system.

Where is the hardware hack for the dvd playing while in motion for the GS 350? I can only find it for the 06 GS300. Nothing here says it works for the GS350. Can you point me to the right direction?
