Mine are really weak, too. The ones in the ES350 loaner I had for a day were much better. They seem to get hotter after you've been on the road a while, but I'm glad I live in California and not New Jersey.

What do you mean by "weak"? Do they not get hot enough for your liking, or do they take a long time to heat up?

I have a 2007 GS 450h and on setting "3" the seats get unbearably hot. It also happens very quickly compared to my previous cars: about a minute to fully heat up.

Both. On "3" they get moderately warm after about twenty minutes on the road.

hmm that doesn't sound normal.
at least not to me from my experience.
Mine heat to a point of my back sweating in about 10 minutes, within 1 minute the edge of it being freezing is already taken off.
mine work great....

Then there appears to be a difference in seat heater performance between the GS450h and the GS350. Maybe the heaters are directly connected to the battery?

Hmm, I found my 98 GS4 was weak. My SC430 is very hot!

Check this out and you'll see that there are other GS350 owners who feel the seat heaters work great. I'd go to the dealer and (a) have them check yours out; and (b) do some test drives in other GS350's to see how they compare. If yours is still lousy compared to the others, they should fix it for you.
