Default Help, programming ext # into phonebook/speed dial

I tried using "p" pause and "w" wait, but neither of those work. Has anybody been successful with programming a phone number into the phone book when you have to dial an extension??? I do have a hack in my system which enables dial pad while moving, and it’s more convenient than pulling out your phone to dial the extension. But still, it involves too many steps. I thought the whole point of pause character when you program the number was to have the extension added if required?

those don't work on mine either. could be linked to the functions your specific phone allows.....
I know with my old treo 650, it was great, then I got the 700wx, sucked, now I have the new 8250 Blackberry, and I have antenna recetption, battery...
but I cannot use the hold pause still.

I'm still here with pos RAZR. Maybe I will try asking my dealer at 5k service if they can suggest something? BTW, last week one my our vendors took me out to lunch, the guy drove '07 MB S550. Way too many hitech toys in there. One being a separate dialpad in the middle console (right next to Benz's version of iDrive big **** LOL!!!). Very convinient place for a physical dialpad. Plus, they have a separate cradle if you want to use your phone without bluetooth connection as a speakerphone with additional external antenna. Very slick! Cool car, but still felt like a boat inside, even so they are claming improvement from S500...

yha, I've heard good things about the new S550.
Personally I would look into the E550.
That shoulds like something up my alley.
Might look at it, at least just to entertain, when I exchange my current 550i, for either the new reamped one coming out in 08, or the new MBE550. We'll see.
I do like the all wheel drive the MB has, even if it's only 40/60 or whatever it is. Still has to be better than my 450h.
let me know what you find on the phone problems.... I'm interested.

Just taking a wild stab here as I have not used it, but have you looked at Speed Tones yet. I think that this is what you could use this for.

Speed tones? Have to check it, but I thought I looked at every available option. I have all the numbers programmed into a phone book. Than, I select specific ones and assign into speed dial. When I click/touch speed dial it just gives me options of preselected phones, and I don't recall anywhere an option for speed tones. I guess will have to check that...

Here is the page in the manual that I came across this Speed Tone feature. I'm guessing it would work for what you want.

Have not tried this, but you could put it into your cell and then bluetooth it to the GS and store it as a speed dial... should work.
