Angry Bumper Repair Cost Over $5K!!!

Some moron has the gut to hit and run my GS350 in the parking lot without leaving a note.

From the picture, it looked minor. So I was only going to re-align the front wheels at the Firestone. But the second they raised up my GS350, they lowed it right away. They told me that the suspension is bent and they cannot do alignment on it.

So I took my GS350 back to the dealer for estimate for the bumper and suspension repair. Service manager told me that when the person ran into my bumper that person also "bumped" my front tire, because he saw tire mark on it. Initial estimate was about $3.5k, later $4k, and finally over $5k for the total repair.

ADVICE TO MY DEAR 3RD-GENERATION GS OWNERS, BE AWARE WHERE YOU PARK YOUR TOY !!!

WOW! I'm sorry man but I would think a new bumper cover and a paint w/ install shouldn't be that much!? Hope everything works out for you in an affordable manner.
Hang in there,

With all the suspension damage I'm not surprised at the cost, but the question is how did you obtain so much suspension damage from what seems like a simple parking lot fender bender. Unless the guy slammed into your parked car going 20 MPH? I have been involved in a few accidents that caused as much as $8K in damage, but not once did I receive suspension damage. Unless he pushed your car into a curb or something. I would be interested to hear about all the suspension parts that were bent.

That's bad man. It does look like like all bumper damage. With the suspension damage, this was not just a tap but more of a smack. But if the damage is that severe as the dealer claims, then I can see the cost being several thousands. 5G, seems steep to me only because my previous car had it's rack n pinion replaced along with some other parts for just over 3G. But hey it was an Intrepid not a Lexus. Good luck with that.

damn that sucks, you've got glacier frost pearl, its probably $1 for the bumper and suspension and $4,999 to spray and match that glacier frost paint!

Did you check to see if the parking lot had any security cameras on it? I would also check with another body shop for a second opinion.

Wow, you can see the suspension damage by looking at the tire in pic, it is out further at the top than at the bottom sort of like old VW Bettle wheels normally were only opposite direction. Maybe businesses in area you had parked have video of parking area and you can have the rat that did it found.

Default Bumper damage

Same thing just happened to my new '07 GS350. 1000 miles on it. Driving home and its swaying all over the road. Stop to take a look and the driver rear fender is scuffed. Also a mark on the wheel. When they take a look at the body shop the wheel was pushed way up towards the front and suspension bent. Bottom line-they had to replace all the suspension parts, wheel and tire and bumper. Grand total $2500. could barely tell from the outside there was so much damage. And the car was parked when it happened. Of course no one left a note.
