Default DVD-A questions...

Hi and thanks.

I purchased a DVD-A DVD today and had a few questions.

1. Should the system be in "surround" mode when listening to these in order to take advantage of the quality.

2. Is DVD-A a new technology or has it been around?

3. Why is there such a poor selection of music in this category?

Is this the best way to get the best sound out of my GS?

Thanks...

1. Yes

2. It's been around since 2000.

3. Because the music companies know that most people are to cheap to pay more for DVD-A over a standard CD recording. Plus many people couldn't hear the difference between the two different recording techniques.

Completely true. In addition to people being cheap, they are also more concerned with putting 1500 songs on a I-pod than, 40 of DVD-A quality.

Oh well. I buy the DVD-A's that I can find that are my taste in music.

The HD coming out in cars is great, but hard to find ample DVD-A quality in the first place to even put on a 60 g HD.

OH well.

Someday there will be something better, smaller format size and less expensive for those who are penny pinchers and can't tell the difference.
