Someone told me that after installation of ViasTech Sirius control module they had a problem with Bluetooth connection where it stopped working. Can anybody confirm if they had any problems with BT after ViasTech Sirius install?
Interessting, I am having problems with my bluetooth also after installation of the SLS unit. My bluetooth works but it's not usable at times because the speaker cycles on and off every second or so. It affects my nav's turn by turn voice as well. Then if I wait a while, it will start working normally again. I guess we both need to call Vaistech tomorrow.
Twister, do me a favor and see if your nav voice is working properly.
Robert, when I called them earlier today, they confirmed about knowing a few isolated cases where BT stopped working after SLS install. My dealership mentioned about another GS350 with a same problem. Will call them tomorrow again...
My BT works after I installed my SLI (2006 GS300 w/NAV, no ML) but I when I press the "pick up phone" (either on the steering wheel or nav screen) button during an incoming call, the incoming call is terminated.
The only way to correctly receive an incoming call is to press the answer button on my handset.
Twister, what firmware version do you have on the SLS unit? I have 4.33 and I'm wondering if I'm going to run into trouble.
I'm installing both SLI and SLS.
What version firmware do you other guys have on the SLI unit?
Thanks
I just bought the SLS during the group buy, received it Fri and installed it Fri night. I am assuming it's the latest firmware. Initially, I was thinking that it was a fluke or chance occurance but it has done it 3x and posts like this are telling me there is something going on with the Vaistech units. Funny, I didn't see any posts about these problems when I did a search. I wonder if it's just a bad batch of SLS units?
I didn't do installation myself, it was done through my dealership (an arrangement to avoid *voiding* of my warranty for a *very* reasonable fee). The installation shop just got a new batch of SLS modules in the middle of the last week. I was their second install on GS350, with a same failed BT results
As I mentioned in my post above, I called them up yesterday right before my installers put the unit into the car to find out if Viastech aware of the problem. They mentioned a few isolated cases, and also warned to install my unit "in easily accessible place if the problem is confirmed and the replacement will be required".
I wonder if this problem isolated to GS350 only or in general across all latest Lexus models? With a recent group buy, we probably going to find this out soon.
OK, got it to work NOW!!! My installation guy suggested getting into a setup menu and deleting my current "hands free" phone, than pairing it up again. That did the trick.
One more thing. For some weird reason after phone got connected back, I was not able to hear any dial tone through BT or the people whom I was calling. So, I had to go into a hidden system menu (hold INFO button and flip lights on/off 3 times) and changed BT send/receive level to 3. Afterward, everything is working 100%

I'm happy to hear Howard again after 1 year break
Glad to hear you got it working ok. I will have to call Vaistech. You found the hidden menu? Does it allow nav system override?
That hidden menu was described in DIY section (https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...&postcount=24). Its more for system check and diagnostics. Like I said, hold INFO and flip headlight switch on/off 3 times (car has to be on, of course). I'm sure someone would of point it out if such an override existed.
I don't know why playing with BT Voice Quality fixed that problem, really odd. It really felt like adding SLS to the system did some kind of a reset of a BT connection.
