Can't, navigation comes standard on GS450h in Canada.

correct. they come loaded! every option I believe. I think the only things you can pick are the preferred package, which is the locking lug nuts-cargo net-trunk mat-and maybe one other thing comes with this package. little things (900.00 dollars worth)

why would you spend so much money on a car and not want the navigation?

If you really want a GS450H without navigation just buy one here in Hawaii. All Lexus cars sold in Hawaii don't come with navigation. Sucks for us, but it still is an option for those that really don't want nav.

Because I don't drive outside of known areas - this is a daily commuter/weekend golf car.

Everyone I know who has a nav has either been late or gotten lost because it screwed up or sent them on a wild goose chase route.

You're much better off going to google maps and planning ahead.

you can only get the 450h, WITH nav. B/C the nav dispays on the onboard comp screen as well. THe hybrid gives a different /moment view of all gas, mpg, ex, on the screen. They ALWAYS will incorporate the NAV which is super cheap for lexus to install at that point rather than not.

"Everyone I know who has a nav has either been late or gotten lost because it screwed up or sent them on a wild goose chase route"

That is simply not true and you know it.

It is true in my experience. Mind you I only know a handfull of people with a navigation system.

1. spent 15 minutes trying to figure it out and program a route when the trip itself would have only taken 20

2. ended up going north instead of south because the exits were close together and navigation tells you right/left not north south

3. ended up taking the most convoluted route from A to B in my local area, if you're visiting someone then trust their knowledge and turn off the navigation

etc.

Actually, it only comes in one trim level with no further options in Canada, but it's not "loaded". Yes it includes the NAV but you cannot get it with some options available for the GS430 like the ****, Radar Cruise & Pre-Crash etc. . . . . .

I was hoping to import a non-nav from the US - $C is strong and there is a fairly big arbitrage (savings of over $10k on some cars)

hmmm 15 minutes to program a route. hard to believe. the nav on the lexus is extremely user friendly. from day one i was using the nav for about a week without reading the manuel. on the second week i started reading all the nav material and it wound up being a refresher course. i learned about some other new features, but overall it was a breeze to learn. im sure all of my fellow lexus owners will agree.

I'm just wondering why would you not want to have a Navi on your car. It is user friendly. When I got my first Lexus, it was extremely easy to use.

Well if it was free I wouldn't uninstall it!

But I don't want a $4400 package that has items that are going to be basically useless for me.

This car is a daily commuter - I know where I am going!
