Default A question on tire’s.

I just purchased a 07 GS350 AWD the other day. As of now the car is on a boat somewhere between my dealer and Japan. It should be arriving in about ten days (I can’t wait).

I do have a question that I hope one or more of the forum members could help me with. The car is coming with the stock seventeen inch run flat all season tires. I am thinking about upgrading to the all season eighteen inch run flat’s (I think the car would look better with the bigger tires). My question is… has anyone driven the car with both set’s of tires, I am concerned that the ride will be somewhat less plush with the 18’s. My dealer does not have any vehicles on the lot that have the eighteen-inch fun flats for me to test.

Guys, thanks in advance for any advice/information you can give me on this.

i havent driven any GS350 with 18" run flats, but i have driven the 17's with the dunlop tires. i have no real complaints. the car drives great with the 17 inch wheel. my only complaint is that lexus left too much of a wide gap between the tire and fender. i know everyone must be thinking "just lower the car", but i dont wanna MOD the car. otherwise the 17's work just right for me.

Thanks for the reply, I will more than likely stay with the 17’s but it would have been nice to test it with the 18’s.

With the TPMS sensors installed in the wheels these days, it is becoming a pain to just swap out the wheels for the way it looks.

We now understand why Lexus has geared up a tire replacement department.

That is so true. It seems that as time goes by you are more "married" to your dealer than you ever were before.

There are alot of custom wheel manufacturers that build the wheels to accept the OEM TPS sensors. Some of the 1pc companies like EXE accept them as well.
