Just bought my 2nd GS for my Bday 27th...Bought my 1st one for college graduation in '03...

 

I'm 29 and I am the youngest I have "seen" driving my car.
Everyone I pass are much older than me and most are driving a GS2, but of the few GS3's they are at least 20 years older than me....from what "I've" seen around "me."

I've had it for a year now, and have about 18K on it. Still loving it, but I'm always looking for that new toy to park in the garage. I always toss around the idea of getting this new 08 M5 SMG... so unsure of their reliability though. I had a 550i before and loved it, but had to lessen the car load by one, so I kept the 450h. we'll see.

 

Just bought my first Lexus..2007 Smokey Granite Grey/Ash. Previosly drove C70 Volvo Coupe. Love the Lexus but must say seats in the Volvo were more confortable. Oh...I'm 61.

 

New to the Lexus scene even though Ive work at a Toyota Dealer. But Im 40 years young....

 

It's not surprising to see a 35.3% demographic of 21-30 year old GS owners as this is the majority of the demographic on CL. It would be interesting to guage what age bracket buys the GS in a public survey as a whole.

 

add ten to that number and I am getting mine in 2 more days... I guess I will get it in 4 if the boat is on time and everything is fine at the border, and then another 4-5 days until paperwork is done... arghhhh the wait is killing my old back :-)

 

18 here. not so bad huh? im very impress with the poll rating. where majority is under 40 wow.

 

I found this quote from a Car and Driver article, "Lexus's average buyer age is 61 and 70 percent of Lexus buyers are retirees, according to the company."

My guess, based on this, is that the average GS drivers are in their mid-40s. Maybe older.

 

According to J.D. Power for the '07 GS the age demographic is:

18% Age 16-35
49% Age 36-55
33% Age 56+

 

That would make the average age of a GS owner to be about 50 years old.

 

It would also be interesting to compare those <20 drivers to who actually bought their car instead of getting as a present from parents or just driving their parents car

Last year when I was getting my 3GS, other 32 year olds were looking for IS not GS LOL!!! Don't know why GS considered and probably marketed for older folks. It's ride is not as soft as ES/LS.

 

It might be $$ related. With the GS up in the $50K range there are probably more older buyers with the means to buy one. I think the % of LS buyers age 56+ is something like 65%.

 

This poll states 70% under 40...awesome

 

FWIW, to date, for the '08's it's 40% age 56+ (the 33% was for '07).

Not sure what it all means, but those are the current #'s.
