Are you serious??? Dude, braking is braking.. I don't care if you're on track, on the streets, or the highway. Brakes equate to safety and that's all that matters... Yes, there are instances that arise from better braking power if you are an inexperienced driver, but all in all, it's more of a saftey issue than an "auto-x~ing" issue. If I had the money, I would BBK every car I, my family, my friends had. If you don't have the monetary resources, at least swap out the brake lines. How much does an accident (and all that pertains ie. doctors/insurance) cost? Is it worth it? YES.....

The thing that really improves stopping distances moreso than the BBK is wider, stickier tires.

That said, the BIG advantage of a BBK is it's ability to dissipate heat better (more surface area = more heat transfer) and thus provide more consistent braking performance without brake fade during extended braking.
True.. but most of us that are changing the wheels and tires are the 5%-ers that have alittle more fun with our cars...

Also, don't forget BBK usually comes with SS-Brake lines that do affect stopping times/distance.

Thanks for the Brembo info you posted. I got the typical "we don't make that
for your application" email from their sales group today. Nice to see they
are working on one behind the scenes...

Just a thought... maybe someone here could orchestrate a group buy for
us GS3G folks on CL for this kit, with the hopes that maybe we could
get a discount? I am in !

Keep the info coming, Dave. Appreciate it.

As for a group buy, we would have to get one of the CL vendors to do it. I'd definitely be interested if this goes down.

very nice stuff dave, really apprecaite the info. glad to see that companies are working on stuff. project u are definitely pricey man, their 6 pot setup is nice but man the price

but the brembo has interesting stuff. are they REALLY going to have 15" setup for the gs? i don't know if they will sell well, that's very expensive setup, and maintenance won't be cheap too!!!

NP... Whatever I can do to help out! I know I get a lot of useful info from other members so I have to at least try to put forth my effort. Keep checking back as I will add more as I get more info.

Per my conversation with Brembo, they mentioned that the Option A (the 14" / 4-pot) is not a problem and since it only requires a 18" wheel diameter to fit (granted there is enough caliper clearance on the face of the wheel). The 15" was brought up since the GS430 already has a fairly large factory set-up, and they want to entice the V8 demographic as well as the V6. The only foreseeable issue they had was that they only want to build the 15" if there was enough demand. There was a little hesitation since the kit requires a 19"+ wheel set-up and Brembo was not sure there were enough ppl out there with the 19"-20" setups. Many of the GS drivers have the 18" 5-spoke factory wheel and that should accomodate the 14"/4-pot setup....

If you guys are interested in a group buy, you can start posting you interest here and I will do my best to work with one of the sponsors to get pricing if we meet the requirements. I'm not too sure which of the sponsors is direct with Brembo and gets the best breaks in pricing - but if you guys put something together, I'd be more than willing to work as a CL "liason" to seal the deal. I can talk to Carson, Derick, and Tod and see who can get the best pricing without getting into too much trouble (I know some of the companies have strict discount policies).

great info there dave. i think brembo is right on the money on the setup, the 15" will be a good "step up" from the stock gs430 brakes, but considering the price and that people have to get 19s or 20s, i don't know if they will get enough demand to warrant the design. i would love to have that, but considering that i will have to probably pay 1k or more for rotor replacement, that's quite some money for sure it looks sick on big wheels of course

i remember todd gave me pricing on brembo before, can't remember, but for sure he has contacts (at least back then)

Dave - I will be ready for a 4-pot / 14" kit. I will have the Lexus 18" g-spider wheels - so they should fit, right?

car update: latest dealer allotment did not have a loaded white GS, so now they have to dealer locate one for me... another couple weeks I am sure... almost there, almost there...
