I also learned in chemistry that almost all gas brands are basically the same. Its a marketing gig to say that it does this and that and has this and that. Like Cheveron - Techron isn't even a real chemical, its a made up name they use because if they use a real chemical name, than they would have to put that chemical in their formula. Even when gas companies put in certain chemicals to "enhance" the performance of your engine, they put in so little to save them cost that it doesn't even make a difference. Its only in there so that they can state that its in their gas. This is just what I learned in my chemistry class. So please don't attack me if you have proof to prove otherwise

ALL Highway (60-65mph) my best was 28mpg
ALL Freeway (65-85mph) Wisconsin to Florida I got about 24-26mpg (I think that 6th gear helps)
Driving around Chicago for a few days, I got about 15-16mpg
Mixed driving varies, of course, but it's usually around 20mpg. I dont usually drive it too hard. I always use premium.

I'm getting 19-20 MPG for city/freeway driving in my 06 GS 430 and 24 on a road trip, but that's at 75-80 MPH, so I'm sure one can do a lot better if they don't have a lead foot. I always use premium gas.

I have had my 06 430 for about one year now and I get 20-22 MPG even driving 80-100 MPH most of the time. On longer trips at a steady 75-80 I see around 24-26. I always use Costco Premium.

I usually average 18 MPG...70% freeway / 30% city.
On longer trips, my GS430 gas mileage is around 23MPG. Not too bad, but city driving really brings down the MPG. Oh well, I didn't get the 430 expecting good gas mileage.

I got my GS 430 in March.
I average just about 18-19 mpg around town. On the highways here in TN, with an average cruise speed of 75 I can get 27-28. Downhills help, and my friend who has a GS300 is very jealous of my mpg. I think he wanted a 430 but thought he'd lose too many mpg.
Nothin' but premium for me. Switch between BP/Amoco Ultimate Premium and Shell V-Power.

I don't have a GS450 but I can sure tell you that you need to fill your tank with gas that has the right octane level that is stated in your car manual. I'm pretty sure that your car needs at least a 91 octane rating. Any less than that can screw up your engine. Learned it in chemistry and saw a special news segment on it.

The regular and mid grade gas tends to almost always be the same - in fact the same truck can deliever to multiple stations. However, the premium grade gas (say Amoco Ultimate) is a specific blend for that specific company. It has additives that the other grades may not have - and it tends to have these in enough quantity to make a difference. Many users see this difference in MPG with different brands.
