yeah,...brand new.... hasn't had time to bake on real good,... this, i would imagine would have been on there almost a year.... ????? ???? ????

I'm gonna check with Lexus.... this car is coming from a toyota dealership, and they were scared if they removed it, and it left a stripe / footprint, they didn't want to be responsible.

When we bought our first Gen GS300 in 1995 we selected the Jade Green; nice dark green. When they pulled it out it had Gold Pinstriping on the sides. The sales women saw my concerned look and immediately began to pick it off with her finger nail. She had it taken back to the shop and when it appear again in 20-30 minutes, no pinstripes and they must have hit it with a buffer because you couldn't see any indication it had stripes.

Those things are dealer applied and you'd think they'd ask first.

i'd think think compound / polish and buffing should do the trick if it leaves any lighter area from where the stripe was.

we'll find out soon enough....

Default Dealer removal

With EVERY car we have purchased, we had the remove the pinstripes, and sticker dealer badge. I have never had any issues with any of the dealers when this was requested. When we purchased a car in another state that required the inspection sticker on the front window, we also requested that that be removed before we agreed to buy the car. Removing the window stickers is a hard and messy thing to do.

Ask the dealer to remove the pinstripes. They will gladly do it.

BTW, they must have just started putting pinstripes on the cars because I have never seen pinstripes on any GS's in the MD/DC area.

glad to hear it. congrats. Some pins make a sleek look, but others gum it up. I prefer a clean look, (no stripe)

So, I took my gs to the dealer this week to get my pin stripe removed. However, they advised not to do it. Supposely, it will leave a foot print on the darker cars. It will also leave swirls where the pin stripe was at. I really want to get it off. However, they asked if i wanted to change the color of the pin stripe by coloring over the white stripe which stand out the most. I am confused. I don't want to have any swirls or other marks. Can someone give me more info on this subject. I am not sure exactly what to do at this moment.
