Default Rattle In Rear

Does anyone know what causes occasional rattling in the rear when accelerating or decelerating? It sounds like something is hitting a piece of metal. I didn't have this problem until recently. In previous posts someone mentioned that it is the rear shade when it is up. However the rattling that I'm experiencing is there when the shade is both up or down. I really hate to have the dealer take apart my car again if this is something I can fix myself.

If you have wheel locks, you should check and make sure that the adapter for lug nut wrench is not rolling around near the spare tire.

I've taken out everything in the trunk except the spare tire and it's still making the sounds.

Did you find the adapter? When this happened to me, the adapter had found it's way underneath the spare.

I took the adapter out as well. I think a wire is loose somewhere.

I took my car to the dealership and they were able to locate the problem. It seemed to be something loose behind the seats.
