FLY - I have also been looking for an '06 GS 300 either new or used. My research has shown this.........you can get an '06 GS3 for about 41,000 on the high side 40,000 on the low side. Invoice for this car is about $38,700. Don't EVER pay MSRP that's just crazy.
The worst LEXO dealers I've dealt with in the LA area are: (a) Longo Lexus (b) Glendale Lexus (c) South Bay Lexus (d) Tustin Lexus. They never "give" on the price of the car, it's what the sticker says period, we all know that's just foolish. Some of the more consumer friendly LEXO dealers ive encountered are: (a) Westminster lexo (b) Mission Viejo Lexo (c) Jim Faulk lexo (aka lexo of beverly hills) -- suprisingly Lexo of Bev Hills has very very good prices and they will negotiate.
Here's a tip that has worked well for others. Cars Direct.com has some pretty decent prices. so take the '06 GS3, print up a cars direct quote (right now it's about $40,800 including destination charges) walk it into a dealership, waste their time for about an hour to see if you can get it cheaper. if they dont give on the price whip out the cars direct print out and ask them why they can sell it for $ XX.XX and you can't? They will dance around giving u all kinds of excuses but at the end just ask "why should i buy it at your price when i can get it for this price?" then walk away. always leave them a biz card or something with your number in case they decide to call back -- sometime they just want to see if you'll really walk away. Oh, when they call back make sure they know you're on your way to XYZ LEXUS dealership to see what they can do for you -- this make them really nervous cuz you have their (original dealership's) "best price" ...ya right...and they dont want you to shop that price around. make sure they knock off an extra $100 for your trouble and gas.
If you want to swap out the original rims (non chrome) for some chrome ones, they will charge you about $1,600 for chromies........tip offer them $750 no higher than $800 for the rims. you can use that in your bargaining.

^ thanks for the info. Ill look into carsdirect.com. With my IS250 that's what I did. I mentioned that I can get the 250 with $ XX.XX at this place let me know what can you do. He gave me the same price for another color and about $700 more for the color that I wanted.
So anything new about getting the GS?
