Lexus Announces 2007 GS 300 Limited Edition
Lexus used the British Motor Show to unveil its new GS 300 LE (Limited Edition). Taking the current GS 300 SE as its starting point, it features a series of additional, exterior and interior style enhancements. On the outside, the new LE is distinguished by 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, an aerodynamic boot lip spoiler, extended side skirts and a front spoiler. Inside, there's soft grey perforated leather upholstery, dark wood inserts for the doors and centre console and custom-designed floor mats, exclusive to the LE grade. These items are in addition to DVD-based satellite navigation with touch-screen operation; Smart Entry and Start; Bluetooth connectivity; electrically adjustable front seats with memory settings and integrated heating and ventilation functions; digital climate control air conditioning; High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS); 10-speaker sound system with in-dash six-disc CD autochanger; Park Assist Monitor and rear parking sensors; cruise control; automatic windscreen wipers; and a full suite of occupant airbags.

It's intersting theat the UK is sticking with the GS 300 for 2007. That may mean they're not going to get a 350. Most of the options listed for the SE are standard on the US version but there will be a few distinguishing features.

I'm surprised that Lexus would still make the 3.0 liter V6 for 2007 when all their other models (IS, ES and RX) have switched over to the 3.5 liter V6. Do you suppose that Lexus just had some extra 2006 GS stock coming off the line decided to package it up with some extras?

I looked at the Lexus UK website, and they have both the RX 300 and 350. Maybe the cost of gas on the other side of the pond warrants a smaller more fuel efficient motor in the lineup. Could be the same way with the GS; maybe they get a 300 and a 350.

They don't have the IS350 in Britain & Europe, only the IS250 & IS220d The ES350 is also not available in the U.K., they never had the ES . . .

Default No GS350 in the Middle East for '07 Either

My local dealer told me that for 2007, they will continue with both the GS300 and GS430 - even though they have just brought in the ES350.

The Kuwait version of the '07 GS 300 (I am told) will have the new Gen 5 nav, the smog detector, voice activated NAV and the ability to play DVD's - all of which are missing from the '06 version. The '300 engine will continue to be the non Direct Injection version (3GR-FE) that began life in the '03 Toyota Crown, rated at around 230 hp.

They are also not planning to bring in the GS 450h

I'm really pissed off about all those ES owners having a more powerful car, with more options and a nice discount over the GS...my only consolation is that it's front wheel drive...I think i'm gonna import a GS 350 from the US, or upgrade to a 430 - this will probably happen within a few days of some smart-*** in an ES 350 powering past me on the motorway...

yall do know that the 06 gs300 engine is brand new and is the only car so far to use that fse variant. so having it carried over into 07 in another country aint no biggie.. they're just not letting that engine go to waste after 1 yr.

You're right about the FSE - we're still getting the FE version in Asia-Pacific for '07 - less torque, less power, less fuel economy:

3GR-FE
======
The 3GR-FE is a 3.0 L (2994 cc) version with dual VVT-i. Bore is 87.5 mm while stroke is shared with the 2GR at 83 mm.
Applications:
2003 Toyota Crown (Asia-Pacific ex.Japan)
2005 Lexus GS 300 (Asia-Pacific ex.Japan)

3GR-FSE
========
The 3GR-FSE used in the 2006 Toyota Mark X adds gasoline direct injection(Its name is "D-4") engine.
Applications:
2005 Toyota Mark X(Japan)
2005 Toyota Crown Royal(Japan)
2006 Lexus GS 300 (United States and Europe)
