I just bought a GS 430 2 weeks ago, and today i took it to the dealer for a car wash.

After i left, my front parking sensor keeps going off whenever i come to a stop or going slowly.

I tried wiping if off and all but that didnt seem to work. Rear ones seems to work fine.

Whenever i try to park it tells me that I'm too close when in fact I'm no where near the car in front of me.

This only happens when i put it in Drive or Neutral. When its in Reverse it doesnt sound.

Anything i can do about this???

Sounds like a trip to the dealer is in your future. Just keep PA off for the time being.

 

How do you know it's the front sensor giving the alarm? Does the display show an alarm for a particular zone? The only self-repair I can think of trying would be to turn the Parking Sensors off for a while and then turn them back on. It probably won't help, but no harm in trying.

If you don't see any obvious external damage to the sensors, I think the fact that you just had the car washed is coincidental. Either way, if it's only one sensor then it should be an easy fix for the dealer.

I am wondering if water leaked into the sensor and is either causing a fogging of the sensor making it think that you are right on top of somthing when the somthing is really the fog. Or the water is moving around it the sensor with the same effect. As far as the Rev. drive Net. goes i am lost as i was under the impression all sensors are funcional in any gear.

I've had this happen to me a couple times when it was raining a few months ago. My right-front corner sensor kept going off while it was raining. I've not had it happen when washing the car though, but as near as I could tell, water got somewhere into the sensor itself and was causing false readings. As soon as it dried out, the problem went away.

I've been meaning to have it looked at but it keeps slipping my mind.

 

The picture on my nav screen shows the front, and it does not beep, it goes directly to a regular tone, the little picture of a car on the nav screen, the front shows red, which means that I'm too close, but nothing is near me. The sensors on the side of the front seems ok.

I tried turning the Intutive Park Assist on and off and that didnt seem to work.

I took a cotton towel and water and wipe off the sensors, and dried them and that didnt work.

Hopefully its just water that got into the sensors and will dry out by morning, if not I'll bring it in for service. Which I really dont want to do, because the guys that work there doesnt seem to care about your car. After the car wash i had a few oil stains in my interrior, but luckily I was able to wipe it off.

I think its just water that got into the sensors. Took it for a test drive today, and it seems to be working better now. It still goes off, but not as much, and it's beeping now when it goes off, instead of the continous tone.

Hopefully it gets better in a few days.
