I have 2006 GS300 AWD with Dunlop DSST runflat. 25000 miles on the car and thinking to replace with no runflat. I do not like them. Called delaer and ask them wth no runflat but they told me to spend lots of money that I do not like because Lexus requires runflat on AWD.
I do not believe it is true because GS300 comes with no runflat tire. Check with tirerack website and found the recommanded garage who will do the work.
My questions to out there. Anyone replace with no-runflat? how is it?
Which one did you guys replace it with? I see Yokohama to more expensive tires in Tirerack.
Which brand do you recommand base on your experience.
Yokohama or Avon reviewed better than other expensive brand. I am confused but wants to make decision soon. need your help!!!

 

You can replace the runflats with no problems (everybody seems to hate them ).
Just make sure your car comes with a spare, which I think all AWD cars come with
anyway.

About which brand, check the TireRack surveys for what you want. I've
always liked the Bridgestone Turanzas on my old GS. I also like the Pirelli
P-Zero neros on my current car. You can also ask for recommendations on
the TireRack forum here on CL.

you can definitely put on nonrunflats no problem

 

Like marshmallo, I replaced my runflats when I got 18's with Pirelli PZero Nero M+S and they're great. They stick to the pavement like glue under heavy rain and perform decent in light snow.

 

Get away from the runflats... the sidewall of the runflat tires have way too much re-inforcement which in turn gives you a very stiff ride. Especially if you are going to lower the car. From my past experience, (I've used problably 10-15 different tires already in the last 5 years), my 2 fav's are still the Michelin PS2 and Toyo T1-R (respectively). They have great performance, comfort level, noise level, and traction. Keep in mind though that I live in sunny Hermosa Beach so rain and snow is very rare. When it does rain though, I definitely like my Toyo T1-R's over the Michelin PS2's. (Toyo has a 45-day/500-mile "like 'em or leave 'em" full refund guarantee... can't beat that. Just make sure you buy them from an authorized dealer that has the ability to take them back...)
