Default How to clean the dash?

I used Lexol's Vinylex to clean my dash last month. My friends with nice rides and even the service personal at Lexus when I took my car in were horrified to learn I used anything on my dash besides mild soap and water. In fear of hurting my dash, i've been using mild soap and water since. While the dash is clean it's a little dull just using water, on the other hand the vinylex was a little too shiny and as it wore off was a bit splotchy. Is Vinylex ok for the dash? Is there another product that can clean the dash safely and leave a nice not-so-super-shiny finish? Or should I just stick with the mild soap/water method. Thanks for input.

After you wash your car, just use your damp chamois to wipe it down. This will get rid of all the excess dust, etc. This works best in my opinion.

You might try posing this question in the detailing forum. I use 303 Aerospace on mine and like the results. Screens out some of the UV rays that soap and water won't help you with.

I also have been using 303 Protectant. I also have and tried the California Dash Duster once in a while to clear the dust, but I think a quick once over with a clean dry MF towel would suffice.

Another 303 Aerospace Protectant user here. That stuff is incredible.

While I use 303 on some of my older cars for the extra protection, on my gs430, I have been using Meguiar's Interior Detailer. 303, while it leaves a matte finish, still leaves a little something behind. Interior Detailer leaves next to nothing behind (almost like you used water) which is the look that I wanted for this car.

Put me in the Meguiar's camp as well. Wipe it on with one microfiber rag, and then wipe it off with another.
