Default Regarding the GS350

Sorry if this topic has been covered before, but had a couple questions:

1) When is the GS350 due?
2) What is the estimated hp and mpg for the car?
3) Anybody know if it will use the IS engine or the Avalon engine?

FYI I am still debating whether to pull the trigger on the 2006 GS300 or wait for the GS350.

I like the GS300 primarily since it has the new look of the new GS models, but the fuel economy of the GS450H (I understand that GS300 has a much weaker engine)! The extra HP is not that important to me since 245HP is sufficient for my driving. However, I am not happy with the old nav, no mp3 player, and problems with the ratting sound. Which leads me to some more questions:

4) Is the problem with the rattling dashboard typical for all 06 GS300 owners or just for the unlucky few?
5) What are the improvements on the Gen 5th NAV versus the current NAV?

6) I would be interested to hear the people that currently have the GS300 as well as the people that selected that they would have rather waited for the GS350 to come out in the poll to GS300 owners - any particular problems with the GS300 ?

7) Finally, would Lexus dealers offer any prices below at or even below invoice for the GS300? (I live in Southern CA)

Even if you can't answer all questions I would love to hear from all current and prospective GS owners out there!!! Thanks a bunch this forum has been very helpful to me (I've narrowed my selection to the GS having shopped around just due to how beautiful it looks on the road)

Default Don't buy the '06 GS300/GS430 - wait for the '07

There are too many quirks with the '06 GS. Read the posts for the 3rd Gen 2006 GS300/430.

I have an '06 GS300 and, while the vehicle looks very nice, the audio system is lame. I have the standard audio system and XM receiver and there are some annoying "features". A delay when you change satellite channels. The Bluetooth function is very, very weak. Another delay when you call someone and when the person called answers... and not being able to dial using the LCD display and lack of voice dialing.

I have had four other Lexus vehicles and this one is the nicest looking.... being so sleek, but someone at Lexus was asleep at the wheel on paying attention to details in the '06 GS. If what I consider to be deficiencies in the audio system are corrected in the '07 GS, I would be tempted to get rid of my '06.

Just my humble opinion.

The 2007 GS350 will dramatically improve in performance. It will jump 60 Horsepower in fact. The engine is the same dual injected 3.5 V6 found in the exhilarating IS350. The Gen. 5 Nav has the newer Bluetooth II and has the new VGA screen with double the resolution than the Gen. 4. You can read it easily even with polarizing sunglasses on in the daytime. It can double as a surround sound movie theater if desired. The route calculations are faster. The voice commands include the phone functions such as voice dialing by number and name. There are over 8 million points of interest with phone listings included. The system now has a Spanish language in addition to the English and French. It will blow away the other systems out there now. The Mark Levinson will play MP3 Compact discs but only time will tell if the GS350 will have the IPOD port. The GS450h does not.

Verdict: wait for the GS350 if possible.

i don't understand why the 450h wouldn't have that port? the new IS has it....kinda silly if you ask me.

i'm sure it's an easy mod to add.
