i think as long as ur car is stock height with no major body modifications (body kit) and aggressive rims you should be fine (ALSO DEPENDING ON THE CARWASH) i have a stock silver gs400 with oem 17's and i go thru carwashes just fine... never rashed my rims or anything. Ive heard other carwashes work different tho, the rails that guide the car are closer...and they could damage ur wheels....make sure the brushes and materials they use are safe and wont scratch the car, and u should be fine.

I would just be worried about the swirl marks drive thru's leave. If possible, wash the car yourself.

I have no hesitation using the touchless drive through car wash, I alternate between using them & washing myself.

Using a carwash (especially w/ a darker color car) is an open invitation to get swirls/scratches on your car. If you have the means to wash yourself, then do so.

They left some nice rashes on my aftermarket 18's on the 98 GS400. Will never do it again

only use the touchless kind--brushes leave swirl marks; cloth strips are equally bad because they trap dirt/grit. No-touch water jet causes the least harm (hand wash is not always harmless if you don't rinse off the dirt completely before you wash the car). Water jet is also good for getting the grime out of the wheel/brake that you don't normally get.

Just say NO!!!! to car washes. Why take a chance........besides I enjoy washing my own car, granted I live in central TX where we don't have a lot of cold weather. My neighbors think I wash my cars too much as it is....

do they use their own car washes or they take it to a public one?? Here in Atlanta, there are 5 <that I know> Lexus dealerships and they all use manual pressure washing to clean the cars on site <they have a two bays specifically for that>

if you have to go through a carwash, then take it to a brushless one, around here there are too many people who love taking their trucks after going offroading, and as jlin101 pointed out, brushes trap that dirt and will do nothing but scratch your nice finish

Just make sure the rain sensing wipers are OFF... not pretty if they come on during the wash.

Our Lexus dealer uses a pressure washer to wash the cars that are parked in the lot facing the street, but if you give your car for service, we have a touchless automatic car wash at our dealer. I love my free car washes when I stop in, the best part is that sometimes they give me a wash even if I've stopped in just to buy a part

I ussually use a laser one but my only concern is the machine uses real high pressure water because its touchless. Is this something I have to worry about? Also at the end the blowers are so damm strong they shake my wippers a bit.! I only do it in the winter when my car is covered in salt. But I am a little concern of the sound of the water hitting my car! They are like water jets!
