Default Are GSes selling well?

I was wondering what the attitude (at the dealer) is over the GS, are the GS 300 and 430s selling like Lexus expected them to or are dealers twiddling their thumbs like Acura is with the RL and having to discount to invoice and even more just to get decent sales out of it?

I know IS numbers are solid but of course we will need to wait a little bit to determine how successful it will really be because it is still hot off the press.

Just curious because I can't remember the last time I saw a new GS on the road. I know that I havent seen more than 3 so far.

Happy Holidays to my fellow members!

Interestingly enough, I see a ton of GS300AWD's in MA. It is also true that Audi
is quite popular up here and nowhere else... The RL for all the awards and
good engineering has flopped badly. The M is has to be pretty disappointing
for Infiniti as well. 5's and E's are doing really well, so I am thinking they won't
negotiate.

From those numbers it seems that GS sales are leveling off to about 2500 a
month. You will probably be able to get close to invoice.

Lexus goal was to sell about 34,000 GSs in a year. At thier current pace, they will hit it. It has been a SMASH success in a sales pespective. ESPECIALLY when you consider, the 3GS is substantially more expensive than the 2GS base price for base price. (1998 vs 2006 1st year sales)
The 1998 GS sold over 30,000 cars, so Lexus sold more cars and they are more expensive.

Sounds like they know what they are doing!

As for haggling, it shouldn't be an issue, since there is TONS of competiton. The 2GS in 1998 didn't have that, only the E and 5 to worry about (the A6 didn't have its V-8 yet and had a measly 200hp V-6).

So to think the competition is TONS better in 2006, and Lexus still hit its goal. That says a lot.

Default GS Sales

My sales rep is selling at a minimum, 3 cars per day. The AWD's are moving fast and the IS's are very hign in demand. If the IS 350 came in AWD I would have purchased that model instead of the GS 300 AWD. The IS 250AWD just was way to slow and had zero acceleration off the line. Even with the GS 300 AWD I will be taking delivery on Monday and I am already looking to add 50-75 more HP's.

Graet cars, I have a ES300 1992 with 160K miles running great and we will still use it until our son is ready to drive. Them he will get the 92 ES 300.

Where I live in WASHINGTON state GS's are flying like hotcakes. Even the 430's there are no discounts here people are paying top dollar, like me of course had to have the 430

Quite honestly, I see much fewer GS's (especially 430s) compared to the E and 5 series (and I like it that way). But I figure the 3rd gen GS has been on the market a much shorter time compared to the E and 5.

Is that $11 U.S. dollars? That's a very good price. I'm paying $2.35/gal for premium unleaded here in California.

Obviously we'd get it for 11 if the gas we were pumping came from oil coming from the ground up the street =P
