Default Damn- lost my key!!

So I lost one of my keys. Any idea how much a replacement will cost? I guess I should get the remaining key reprogrammed?

I heard that the replacement key can cost you somewhere between $200 and $300. I would reprgram if you can and hold on tight to it.

$150.00 through me. http://www.lexuskeys.info

Make sure you have a master key so you can program in the new key yourself.

Take care,

Tami

EDITED: Sorry. Didn't realize it was on 06 with the Smart system you had. I have to buy those keys from the dealer and they cost me well over $200.00. Sewell Lexus will be your best bet on these keys!

Ouch, gotta be careful with those things. Wouldn't want them getting into the wrong hands before it gets reprogrammed.

i dont belive this is true
If you go to the Toyota or Lexus dealer for a lost key situation they will tell you they need to replace the ECM and order new keys for you. This may cost you anywhere from $1000.00-$3000.00 depending on your dealership.
when u can wipe out the imobolizer ecu memory and then auto regester all the old keys and new keys.

in tis go into diagnostics and u can request a seed key

It is true on certain models. The models are listed on the website. If you don't see the year and model listed then it probably can be reset with a diagnostic tool.

You can only reset the immo on 32 bit ECM's. 16 bit ECM's need to be replaced or reflashed.

The diagnostic computer that we use does not need the SEED Code. Only the dealer computer needs the SEED code.

Take care,

Tami
