I have been lurking here for a while learning as much as I can about the 3rd gen Lexus and hopefully my next new car.
This is my first post to this forum, but I've been reading and taking advices from you guys for a while now.
I had a few questions that I was hoping to get some more info on:
Dealerships - I am in the SF/Bay Area (East Bay). Is there a dealership or sales person that has been giving good deals?
Do any current owners have any buyers remorse about a feature that they wish they had gotten or one that they got, that they don't even use? Just trying to fiugure out what features I am liking.
The NAV system is a must. It's a bit pricey, but worth it.
You didn't say if you were looking at the GS300 or 430. I really like my GS300 AWD and its great gas mileage. But if you prefer more excitement, look at the 430.
The GS300 doesn't come standard with a spare tire because of the run flat tires. I had the dealer provide a donut spare at no charge.
There's nothing I would have done differently with options.
MAKE ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN YOU GET THE PARKING ASSIST.
even WITH the park assist, i've now caught and scraped my front bumper on a concrete curb twice. the front end is hot-lookin', and probably contributes much to aerodynamics...but the overhang is much lower than any Lexus or car i've ever owned. i'm concerned about icy snow chunks this winter too.
i can't imagine trying to maneuver in and out of parking spaces/lots without the park assist. beware especially of those concrete curbs that are secured to the asphalt with iron spikes. they are treacherous.
Forgot to mention satellite radio. I have XM and I think satellite radio is another must have option (if you dislike broadcast radio). If you choose XM, just be sure your dealer doesn't mount the antenna on the trunk lid. I insisted my dealer place the small antenna on the rear shelf and it works fine. Search for antenna on this forum and you'll find others that have done the same thing.
