ticking noise at idle
rI have a new 06 gs 300 awd with an annoying tick from the engine at idle, what is the problem.
you guys were right about the noise. It`s from the pump and the injectors.I also listened to 2 others they had in stock and they sounded the same. This is my second gs 300. I traded my 01for the 06 WOW what a car.

I really doubt it. If that many people who are on this board complain about imagine how many are at the dealers with the same issue. Im sure Lexus HQ is taking note of it and will insulate the pump on future models. They might even issus a TSB and have come up with a box to enclose it in.

will come up with quieter pump or a way to insulate the noise.
The pump itself is acctualy not noisy. As Will said it is the injectors opening and closing with High pressure behind them. Under the hood of any other fuel injected car the same ticking can be heard just it is not as loud because of the lower pressure behind the injectors.

I just bought my 07 GS350 with 45k mileage a month ago and have to say besides the loud idle, noisy transmission and dash creeks, I like it. Wait, I forgot the wobbly rear view mirror. I just got rid of my 05 Acura TL with 92k and it ran a lot smoother. Miss my acura, oh well.
