dealer swap strange
my dealer swapped a car for a gs300 the way I want it. Car came from Presige Lexus in Ramsey NJ/
It is gs300 with no nav/levinson. Car has 1/05 prodction date. Its one of the first group of cars delivered to US. Vin is close to first gs300 at my dealer, shown at new car intro. It seems strange this car was still at Prestige until this week. UNSOLD/ it has only 58 miles on it. any comments? anyone know anything about Presige in Ramsey NJ?

It's not so unusual. The production date means the "born date" in Japan. Be sure to allow for travel time between there and the U.S.
Also it is not uncommon for cars to sit around at the port until a dealer "allocates" it, or asks for it.
Ask what the "Ground" date is, that is what date the first dealer got the car on ground. It should be on their inventory list or "TACK" Sheet. That will tell you how long it was sitting on the lot. And the 58 miles is no biggie, since probably they drove to do the dealer trade.

I got a BMW form prestige BMW. Prestige owns many dealers in that area. The only thing is the actual showrooms are very small and there is no room for as many cars as they have so they drive them to a location area which is like 50 miles away. Thats funny that you said 58 miles because my 330xi had like 55 miles and I went crazy and he kept telling me it was from the storage area in Mawawh NJ. Just because he is swapping it for you doesn't mean you have to take it, If you see it and something doesn't look right just walk out. Plus if your leaseing who cares about the miles you know. Thats how I looked at it for my bmw

He would give me 1500 of sticker, if sold me car, but right now has no gs300 rwd cars in stock now.
I like car, stereo is a bit weak, compared to my bmwfive, but it a very nice car, that shold be relaible. ONE Fault one head ligt housing and one light housing have moisture in it. Dealer is checking on it now. maybe later production cars are better sealed.

I say forget it why would you want them to replace the whole housing on a brand a new car. I would just wait or if they are going to make it up money wise.
