Curious (dealership delivery)
I am curious to know how a dealer can get from port a car that was built for and ordered by another dealer ? What are the circumstances where this might be done?
A trade? e.g. If dealer A ordered the car and dealer B wants the car, B might offer A a vehicle that A wants (or is in short supply) in exchange for the car at the port.
Circumstances? When a customer wants a car from B that B doesn't have in stock but after some searching, B finds the exact car at another dealer or on a ship.

yup that's dealer A trade. basically a customer at dealership 1 wants a car, they don't have it but checked that another dealership has it on order at the port, and the car is not taken yet. then they can request a trade
That's how I got my GX470 instead of waiting 3 months with my local dealer for mine. The kinetic suspension just came out, and the cars were hard to come by.
The dealer did a trade, and got the exact one I was looking for in 1 week.
